Taiwan’s Modern Toilet
You’ve got to hand it to the folks at the Taiwanese restaurant chain, Modern Toilet. They’ve brought the toilet to the kitchen, and vice-versa, serving menu items in porcelain toilet-shaped bowls and drinks in miniature urinals. Patrons sit on the designer toilets (don’t worry, the seat is down) and use toilet roll for napkins. Dessert, in the form of chocolate ice-cream, is proudly served in the shape of a curling turd. It’s all good fun, just like our Bucket List.

Getting There : There are several branches now located in Taipei (as well in Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and other places). It's not always easy to find, your best bet is to take a cab from your hotel and have someone explain that you're looking for Modern Toilet. Hopefully you end up at the restaurant and not a plumbing discount store.
Note from Robin : The Taiwanese love their toilets so much, no wonder there's a restaurant devoted to them. At a behemoth of a department store called Chung Yo, you can also find 14 themed bathrooms. If you love Coca Cola, you might want to relieve yourself in the Coke-themed restrooms. There’s the bamboo, wood and jungle themed restroom if you’re more nature-inclined, or head to the beer bathroom which has refrigerated beers ready to serve, much to the delight of husbands everywhere. Meanwhile the kids will love the toy themed restroom, and for the ladies, there’s lingerie, jewellery and fun accessory-themes latrines as well.
